Georgetown Students Criticized For Not Joining Occupy Protests
www.huffingtonpost.com
WASHINGTON -- Are Georgetown University students part of the 1 percent? According to the Hoya, there's been a lack of involvement by Georgetown University students in Occupy movement.
Wow. This is some major BS. I'd say we don't participate bc many of us had to take econ and we understand opportunity costs: not wasting our time camping out in the middle of DC misdirecting our anger and providing no constructive solutions and instead equipping ourselves with the tools we need to actually become the next generation's proactive leaders in the private, public, and non-profit sectors. If you don't like the status quo, equip yourself with the tools to change it, don't futilely occupy. #bethechangeyouwishtoseeintheworld
I agree Shiva, they are major concerns, both domestically and globally. I just don't think the Occupy movement (as of yet) has a way of being able to produce any real change concerning those issues. On the whole, they're just continuing the massive blame game of our own domestic politics.
