I wonder if 幽默 a phonetic translation of humor and 滑稽 of funny. I know that 幽默 is most likely, how about 滑稽? I have always taken them,幽默 and滑稽, for granted. If they are indeed direct translations by our language experts generations ago, maybe I should start to accept 巴士,豪斯,司多,的士,赛可斯,etc, or should I? I dislike these recent translations very, very much. Please stop polluting the beautiful Chinese language with junky and cheap inventions. We have enough corresponding expressions, except 幽默 and 滑稽, of course.
