Special Notes:
After I485 filed,
No REF, 1 finger print, 1 physical exam,
I called local Congressman\'s Office first, no appointment needed, walked in his office the same day. Once I was there, signed name and issue I want to talk, waiting for about 20 minutes, then I was called in to see Congressman\'s assistant in charge of immigration. She was very patient and kind. After getting the details of my case, she picked up the phone and called the NSC. The greeting message announced Welcome to NSC congressional line. Now you know this is the hot line for congress member. Once connected and verified who\'s calling, she inquired the status of my case. The people at the other end accessed my case and provided the details of my case. That\'s how I knew my exactly where my case was. My suggestion is that if you PD is not current, it\'s wise not to bother your Congressman/Senator. It\'s a waste of their time and your time.
If you can, visit your Congressman\'s Office in person with your case info. Each Congressional inquire is tagged on your case, IO officer cannot ignore them.
A soft update on your case is a good sign meaning your case is active.
Be patient, and do what you need to do while waiting. You can\'t do anything about it anyway why not get some important things done. Now my son\'s college scholarship is confirmed, wife is graduating in May for a job.
Keep praying. Do good things and help others.
Many thanks to people on the forum for information and confirmation and lot of useful tips. Special thank to Xiao Baitu, PJiang, and others.
BTW, my attorney was Attorney Fan in Maryland. I never met him in person. Which may not a good decision. But he knows what\'s his doing.
Good luck to those still waiting and best wishes to everyone.
