My history teacher is Korean and his wife is white. She is also my school counselor. So they are coworkers. They are always talking about each other and it’s really cute. And since I see both of them, they are always like “Which one of us is better” or “What is my husband/wife like when I’m not around?” or they tell me stories about one another, all in joking ways. In all honesty, no matter if you’re black, white, Asian, blue, purple, whatever, love is love and race should not matter.

I'm an Asian man and I'll just say it, I've only seen Asian families react like this - when they bring home a non-Asian partner. If the white families have a problem with it, they're extremely discreet about it unless they are just incredibly uneducated. That being said, I haven't seen anything like this in years, maybe a decade or more. Is this even a thing anymore?

What Would You Do? (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series.     I agree with the woman in the video, there is a lot of ignorance here in Hattiesburg. I've lived here for 42 years and many whites are afraid of what their friends and family will say. Here is a saying you often hear down here, "My parents would kill me if I brought a black person to my house". I've heard this often from classmates of mine while growing up here but it's heartwarming to see that it seem to be slowly changing here.  I've had it happen to me where the person parents lived across the street from her and when I arrived at her house the parents must have been looking out the window and called her on the phone and told me I had to leave. Now I mind you that the woman was an adult in her 20's and had her own place. We were classmates at the local college and I was invited over to study together for a licensure exam and got ran off. That's Mississippi for you, it happens a lot because that is what's taught here. It's not acceptable. So the guy's mother in this video will likely remain that way which is sad because she may have  an excellent daughter-in-law but is not even willing to find out because of the color of her skin. What a sad world we live in. Smh!?

    I feel Michael is a gentle soul. Bless his Mom's heart. She was raised with a different belief and she's sticking to it whether God or anybody else approve or not. I'm glad Michael will live his life and be happy in spite of it. Many times, seriously as I was growing up I've watched whites have situations where they lived miserably simply because they refused to cross the color line to find love and be happy. I wonder how many will say to God, God, I was believing you for the person you wanted in my life. I never received. I can just hear the Lord saying. I sent them. You wouldn't receive them because you were looking at the outer appearance.
